Do You Feel Lost and Forgotten?

For many people the Christmas Season is a time of great JOY and ANTICIPATION; yet, for many others it is a time filled with SARROW and DEPRESSION. These sad and depressed people wander through the bright lights and wonder of life trapped in the quiet prisons of self-doubt, worthlessness, loneliness, and anger. Their prisons, your prisons, my prisons are too numerous and varied to list, but each is built upon the foundation of being LOST and FORGOTTEN.

The promise of The Savior is over shadowed, and crowded out by thousands of empty or broken promises we have experienced. The hope of a NEW life IN CHRIST is brought to no effect by the constant reminders surrounding us from the past.

Today can be a new day. We have the power to push past the doors of our prisons if we choose to open our hearts in FAITH. The Savior came to fulfill His mission. “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10 (NASB)

Which prison you have confined yourself in makes no difference. The power and anointing of Christ will deliver you from it.

“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.” Isaiah 61:1-3 (NIV)

His gifts to us this Christmas include: healing, freedom, light, favor, comfort, joy, beauty, and praise. We were created to display the LORD's splendor. God has not forgotten or forsaken us. We have the power of choice. We can choose to remain in our prisons; or we can choose to join the celebration.

We have the most amazing reason to celebrate. We are neither LOST or FORGOTTEN. The Savior who came “seeking and saving” promised never to abandon us. Open your gifts and share in the JOY and ANTICIPATION of our ultimate salvation. Until that day we have both His promise and the investment in us of His Spirit.

“He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.” John 14:17 (NLT)

Look for Him. Live in expectation. Share His love. Join the celebration with JOY and ANTICIPATION. You are not lost nor are you forgotten when you accept the gift of Christmas. That gift is Salvation. Share the TRUE GIFT of Christmas.

“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:12(KJV)
